Cross-site scripting via sanitizer and serializer bypasses
Published Aug 23, 2026 · Updated Aug 23, 2026
Cross-site scripting in JustHTML before 1.15.0 allows remote attackers to inject active HTML and JavaScript through crafted content. URL helpers accept encoded schemes and backslash hosts, while serializers and Markdown passthrough emit markup-breaking names, comments, and raw closing tags without safe neutralization. Exposure requires attacker-controlled data to reach the affected helpers, programmatic DOM construction, html_passthrough=True, or a permissive custom policy or transform pipeline.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
