Unauthenticated data modification via unchecked API methods
Published Apr 15, 2026 · Updated Apr 15, 2026
Missing authorization in AVEVA Pipeline Simulation 2025 SP1 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify simulation and training data. A subset of Pipeline Simulation Server API methods fails to enforce Simulator Instructor or Simulator Developer role checks on unauthenticated requests. Network access to the Server API is sufficient, and successful requests can alter simulation parameters, training configuration, and training records without reported availability impact.
