Unauthenticated file read via backslash traversal
Published Jun 22, 2026 · Updated Jun 22, 2026
Path traversal in WebP Server Go through 0.14.4 allows remote attackers to read files outside IMG_PATH on Windows. The handler/router.go request path passes percent-decoded backslashes through path.Clean, which normalizes only forward slashes before Windows file APIs resolve both separators. No authentication is required; exposure permits reading any host file accessible to the server process, but only on Windows deployments.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
