Stored XSS via unescaped tag metadata
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in BSimVis 0.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through crafted stored tag metadata. Tag and cluster renderers insert names, identifiers, metadata, event-handler strings, and style values into browser-interpreted contexts without context-appropriate escaping. Attackers must create or influence a stored value that an affected page later renders; execution occurs in the viewing user's session and grants access to data and actions available there.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
