Unauthenticated denial of service via unbounded image dimensions
Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Grav before 1.7.53 and 2.0.0-beta.1 through 2.0.0-rc.7 allows remote attackers to interrupt service. Grav::fallbackUrl passes query-string image actions such as forceResize and attacker-controlled dimensions to ImageMedium without a dimension or pixel ceiling, causing GD or Imagick to allocate excessive memory and consume CPU. Any unauthenticated request to a site serving images reaches the flaw without a plugin or non-default configuration, and concurrent requests can take the host down.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
