CVE-2026-53632Public exploitNetwork attack vector

NTLMv2 hash disclosure via unvalidated UNC paths

Published Jun 22, 2026 · Updated Jun 22, 2026

Path injection in Vite launch-editor before 2.14.1 allows remote attackers to disclose a Windows user's NTLMv2 password hash. The middleware passes an attacker-supplied UNC file path to filesystem checks without validation, causing Windows to authenticate automatically to the referenced SMB server. Exploitation requires a running reachable middleware endpoint, Windows with NTLM enabled, and a user who visits an attacker-controlled page; the captured hash supports offline password cracking.
