CVE-2026-53580Public exploitNetwork attack vectorHinoki check available

Authenticated file disclosure and crash via file URLs

Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026

Arbitrary file read in Trilium Notes before 0.104.0 allows remote authenticated users to read local files or crash the service via image URLs. The downloadImage function strips file:// and passes the remaining path to fs.readFile without path validation or a size cap, then stores the bytes as an attachment. Any authenticated session or ETAPI token reaches this default-enabled path; access is limited to process-readable files, while unbounded sources terminate the server.
