Post-login external redirect via unsafe target validation
Published Jul 31, 2026 · Updated Jul 31, 2026
Open redirect in GeoNetwork opensource allows remote attackers to send users from SSO login flows to attacker-controlled external sites. GeonetworkOAuth2LoginAuthenticationFilter and KeycloakAuthenticationProcessingFilter accept a client-supplied redirect target as a safe relative path even when the browser resolves it to an external host. The affected lines are 3.12.0 through 3.12.12, 4.0.0-alpha.1 through 4.0.6, 4.2.0 through 4.2.15, and 4.4.0 through 4.4.10; a user must complete OAuth2/OIDC or Keycloak login, enabling phishing without bypassing authentication or directly exposing catalog data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
