Credential disclosure via unchecked host ownership
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Missing authorization in Termix before 2.6.1 allows remote authenticated users to read other users' stored SSH or sudo passwords. The GET /host/db/host/:id/password route in src/backend/database/routes/host.ts trusts a user-supplied host ID and, after a requester-scoped lookup fails, falls back to the owner's context and returns the owner's plaintext credential. Any account with a valid JWT can enumerate sequential host IDs; disclosed SSH or sudo passwords can then be used to access managed systems outside the Termix instance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
