CVE-2026-53514Network attack vector

Unauthorized invitation acceptance via unverified email match

Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026

Authorization bypass in Better Auth before 1.6.11 and 1.6.14 and later allows remote authenticated users to accept organization invitations. The organization plugin's recipient endpoints treat equality between session.user.email and the invitation email, plus possession of an invitation ID, as ownership proof without requiring emailVerified. Exploitation requires an unverified session for the invited address, an obtainable invitation ID, the organization plugin, and no verified-email invitation gate; access is limited to the invitation's assigned role.
