CVE-2026-53497Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Session metadata disclosure via unauthenticated status endpoint

Published Aug 21, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026

Information disclosure in CrossWatch before 0.9.21 allows remote attackers to read active session metadata through an unauthenticated API request. The /api/app-auth/* middleware exemption bypasses authentication, while _public_session_state treats a missing cookie as an empty token hash and appends every active session to other_sessions. Network access alone exposes IP addresses, User-Agent strings, internal non-secret session IDs, and timestamps, but not reusable authentication tokens.
