CVE-2026-53466Network attack vector

Process crash via overflowing XCF tile bound

Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026

Integer overflow in ImageMagick's XCF decoder before 6.9.13-51 and 7.0.1-0 through 7.1.2-25 allows remote attackers to crash processes. In load_level in coders/xcf.c, a floating-point tile-size expression is cast to MagickOffsetType when a second tile offset is zero, allowing the fallback bound to wrap before the tile read. Processing a crafted XCF image is required; the out-of-bounds read can disclose adjacent memory or terminate the consuming process, with no reported write primitive.
