Process crash via malformed distort arguments
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Null pointer dereference in ImageMagick before 6.9.13-50 and 7.1.2-25 allows remote attackers to crash its process via malformed distort arguments. The distort operation accepts an invalid argument combination and dereferences a null pointer instead of rejecting the malformed request. Exploitation requires user interaction or a consuming application that passes attacker-controlled arguments, and the published impact is limited to interruption of the ImageMagick process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
