Application crash via incorrect ICON row loop
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Out-of-bounds heap write in ImageMagick before 6.9.13-50 and 7.1.2-25 allows remote attackers to crash applications via crafted ICON files. The Read1XImage loop in coders/icon.c uses image columns as its row-loop bound instead of image rows, allowing writes beyond allocated row storage. Only applications that decode attacker-supplied ICON content are exposed, and exploitation interrupts the decoding application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
