CVE-2026-53459Network attack vector

Authentication bypass via fail-open database error handling

Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026

Authentication bypass in Bambuddy 0.1.6 through 0.2.4.3 allows remote attackers to access all protected endpoints. The is_auth_enabled function catches database-access exceptions and returns false, treating authentication as disabled instead of denying the request. Flooding the public login endpoint can exhaust file descriptors and trigger the error window, exposing protected data and administrative actions without credentials.
