Administrator path traversal via unbounded terminal cwd
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Path traversal in Home Assistant China Blueprint Studio before 2.5.2 allows remote authenticated users to access unintended host paths via cwd. In custom_components/blueprint_studio/backend/terminal_manager.py, the legacy terminal command path accepted a caller-supplied working directory, verified only that it existed, and then ran commands from that location without first confining it to the Home Assistant configuration directory. Reachability is limited to the restricted terminal helper and requires administrator-level access; resulting file read or write access is bounded by the Home Assistant container and underlying filesystem permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
