Command injection via Git credential helper

Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026

Command injection in Home Assistant China Blueprint Studio before 2.5.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands via Git credentials. custom_components/blueprint_studio/backend/git_manager.py writes a shell credential-helper script by interpolating the configured Git username and token into executable script text without validating or safely quoting those values. Reachability requires access to set Git credentials in Blueprint Studio; injected newlines or shell metacharacters then run with Home Assistant's operating-system privileges and can read or modify configuration data.
