Non-admin admin-API access via missing checks
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Missing authorization in Blueprint Studio before 2.5.2 allows remote authenticated users to invoke administrator-only backend actions. Backend, upload, stream, terminal WebSocket, and Blueprint Studio WebSocket handlers authenticated Home Assistant users but did not consistently reject requests unless user.is_admin before executing service calls, template rendering, file access, global replacement, uploads, and related helpers. Any non-admin Home Assistant account could cross the panel's admin-only boundary and read or modify configuration data, expose Home Assistant state, trigger arbitrary services, and reach terminal-related helpers.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
