Authenticated admin escalation via unchecked OIDC methods
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Missing authorization in WeKan before 9.32 allows remote authenticated users to gain global admin privileges through OIDC Meteor methods. Six globally callable methods omit the admin checks used by their non-OIDC counterparts; groupRoutineOnLogin trusts caller-supplied group data and writes isAdmin. Organization and team changes require only an authenticated account, while global admin escalation also requires PROPAGATE_OIDC_DATA to be enabled and an OIDC-linked account.
