Stored XSS via unescaped offline cause description
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Stored XSS in Jenkins 2.483 through 2.567 and LTS 2.492.1 through 2.555.2 allows remote authenticated users to run browser script. The POST config.xml API stores a generic node offline-cause description that the default UI renders as HTML without escaping. Agent/Configure permission is required, and execution occurs when another user views the affected UI; enforced CSP blocks it on newer affected releases.
