Authenticated arbitrary file write via upload path traversal

Path traversal in Textpattern CMS 4.9.0 through 4.9.1 allows remote authenticated users to write files via XML-RPC image uploads. The mt_uploadImage function in rpc/TXP_RPCServer.php accepts the attacker-controlled file.name value as an upload path without confining it to the image directory. Low-privileged access and the optional XML-RPC server are required; successful requests can overwrite files reachable by the web-server account.
