Local system crash via error-path logging dereference
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in AMD display code in Linux Kernel 5.14 through 7.0.9 allows local users to crash the system. In dc_dmub_srv_log_diagnostic_data() and dc_dmub_srv_enable_dpia_trace(), the combined null check calls DC_LOG_ERROR(), which accesses dc_dmub_srv->ctx even when dc_dmub_srv is null. A local low-privileged user must reach one of these AMD Display Core error paths; the reported consequence is a kernel crash only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
