CVE-2026-53302

Kernel panic via contradictory asynchronous hash lookup

Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in Linux Kernel 6.15 through 6.18.32 and 6.19 through 7.0.9 allows local users to trigger a kernel panic. The eip93_hmac_setkey() path requests a driver-specific asynchronous hash while masking out asynchronous algorithms, leaving the SA record partially initialized after the lookup fails. Local access and use of the EIP93 AEAD setkey path are required; a later crypto request reads ctx->flags through a NULL request context and halts the kernel.
