CVE-2026-53278

System crash via unallocated MPAM configuration teardown

Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in Linux Kernel 6.19 through 7.0.9 allows local users to crash the system during MPAM shutdown. The __destroy_component_cfg() function uses an embedded garbage structure when mpam_disable() runs before comp->cfg has ever been allocated. Local low-privileged access is required, and successful triggering causes an availability-only system crash.
