Local service crash via inconsistent EHT elements
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Improper validation in Linux Kernel 6.16 through 7.0.12 allows local users to crash mac80211 via inconsistent EHT elements. The nl80211 parsing path accepts an EHT capability element without a matching EHT operation element instead of rejecting the inconsistent configuration. Low-privileged local access is required, and successful exploitation interrupts availability by crashing the wireless stack without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
