Kernel stack disclosure via incomplete register initialization
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Information disclosure in Linux Kernel 6.18 through 6.18.35 allows local users to read stale stack bytes through an nftables register load. NFT_META_BRI_IIFHWADDR reserves eight bytes, but nft_meta_bridge_get_eval() copies only the six-byte hardware address and leaves two bytes uninitialized. Affected releases also include 6.19 through 7.0.12 and 7.1-rc1 through 7.1-rc7; local rule evaluation is required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
