Kernel memory disclosure and crash via unchecked indices
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in the ivpu firmware-log path in Linux Kernel allows local users to read kernel memory or crash the system. The fw_log_print_buffer function uses firmware-supplied read and write indices as log-buffer offsets without first verifying that each is below data_size. Reachability requires low-privileged access to Intel NPU interfaces and invalid firmware log indices; the bounded impacts are memory disclosure and a system crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
