Kernel memory corruption via wrapped RNR count
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Heap out-of-bounds write in the Linux Kernel allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through an oversized EMA RNR list. nl80211_parse_rnr_elems() increments an element count beyond the u8 range, wraps cfg80211_rnr_elems::cnt, and allocates a flexible array too small for the parsed entries. A local user able to submit the relevant nl80211 configuration can overwrite adjacent kernel heap memory, enabling a kernel crash or modification of privileged kernel state.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
