CVE-2026-53166

Rejected futex requeue crash record

Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026

The Linux Kernel futex requeue crash record was rejected by its assigning CNA, so it no longer identifies a confirmed CVE. Before rejection, the record said a non-top FUTEX_CMP_REQUEUE_PI waiter that owned the target caused task_blocks_on_rt_mutex() to leave waiter->task unset before remove_waiter() dereferenced it. The former analysis required a local low-privileged user to create the self-deadlock condition and bounded the consequence to a kernel crash; the CNA did not publish a replacement identifier.
