Application crash via invalid setup pointer free
Published Apr 2, 2026 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Invalid free in Sean Barrett stb 1.22 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash consuming applications via crafted Ogg Vorbis files. Malformed setup headers corrupt decoder state, causing vorbis_deinit to pass an invalid pointer through setup_free to free(). A user or application must decode the supplied file, and the demonstrated consequence is termination of that consuming process.
