Kernel memory corruption via uncanceled shrink work

Use-after-free in Linux Kernel 4.6 and later allows local users with CAP_SYS_ADMIN to corrupt memory during filesystem teardown. mb_cache_destroy() frees the cache without synchronously canceling c_shrink_work, so mb_cache_shrink_worker() can access freed cache memory. Root or CAP_SYS_ADMIN access and the last put of a mounted ext2, ext4, or ocfs2 filesystem are required; no demonstrated crash or privilege gain is documented.
