Kernel panic via unchecked virtual-interface pointer
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the Linux Kernel mt7925 Wi-Fi driver allows local users to crash the system through packet transmission. In mt7925_mac_write_txwi, the transmit-descriptor path passes a potentially uninitialized vif pointer to ieee80211_vif_is_mld and dereferences it without a NULL check. The path applies to systems using the mt7925 Wi-Fi driver and requires local low-privileged access; exploitation causes a kernel panic rather than data access or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
