System hang via MT7925 station-removal deadlock
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Improper locking in the Linux Kernel MT7925 Wi-Fi driver allows local users to hang affected systems during station removal. mt7925_roc_abort_sync calls cancel_work_sync while the caller holds dev->mt76.mutex and roc_work needs that mutex to finish, leaving both paths blocked. Reachability requires local low-privileged access, an MT7925 device using the mt76 driver, and the station-removal path; the documented impact is an availability-only system hang.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
