CVE-2026-53076

Kernel-memory disclosure via rounded per-CPU map copy

Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel BPF subsystem allows local users to disclose kernel memory through a crafted per-CPU map update. pcpu_init_value rounds a non-8-byte-aligned source length up to eight bytes, then copy_map_value_long reads beyond the CGROUP_STORAGE value into per-CPU map padding. Reachability requires local BPF activity and either unprivileged BPF support or BPF-related capabilities; repeated lookups expose kernel memory, and the read can trigger an oops or panic.
