Stored XSS via unsafe email replacement
Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Magazine3 Check & Log Email before 2.0.13 allows remote attackers to inject JavaScript through a crafted post comment. With Email Encoder enabled, email replacement transforms attacker-controlled mailto content without safely neutralizing HTML attributes, leaving event-handler markup executable. An administrator must enable Email Encoder and view the pending comment; the payload then executes during moderation and again on approved content.
