CVE-2026-53049Network attack vector

Remote state corruption via unlocked log flushing

Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026

Improper locking in Linux Kernel GFS2 allows remote attackers to corrupt kernel state through concurrent network file operations. gfs2_logd calls gfs2_ail1_start, gfs2_ail1_wait, and gfs2_ail1_empty without sd_log_flush_lock, allowing them to race concurrent transactions. Exposure requires an affected kernel with GFS2 in use, including a network-served mount; the published impact covers confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
