Privilege escalation via ACAP framework race
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
TOCTOU race condition in the ACAP framework in AXIS OS 12.0.0 through 12.11.30 allows attackers to elevate privileges via a malicious application. Axis has not disclosed which ACAP framework check races with which privileged use or what resource can be exchanged between them. Exploitation requires the device to permit unsigned ACAP applications and a victim to install the malicious package, after which its code gains elevated privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
