Service interruption via zero-copy accounting bypass
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux Kernel virtio-vsock transport allows local users to exhaust pinned memory through zero-copy sends. virtio_transport_init_zcopy_skb() reads iter->count after virtio_transport_fill_skb() consumes the iterator, passes zero for the final skb, and skips RLIMIT_MEMLOCK enforcement. A low-privileged local process must use MSG_ZEROCOPY over virtio-vsock; successful abuse bypasses its locked-memory limit and interrupts service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
