Local privilege escalation via stale queue links
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel drm/xe driver allows local users to gain elevated privileges or crash the system through queue creation. xe_exec_queue_create_ioctl() frees an execution queue after error paths leave it linked in either the VM compute-queue list or the hardware-engine-group list. Reachability requires low-privileged local access to an active Xe graphics device and either preempt-fence mode or a subsequent xa_alloc() failure; stale-list dereferences then corrupt kernel memory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
