Local denial of service via misplaced IDR replacement
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Improper handle management in the Linux kernel allows local users to trigger a denial of service through a DRM change-handle request. drm_gem_change_handle_ioctl places the IDR replacement on the error path instead of the normal success path, leaving the new object pointer unreconciled with the original handle. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access to a DRM device and can interrupt availability without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
