Service interruption via leaked CephFS folio references
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Resource leak in Linux Kernel 6.15 through 7.0.9 allows attackers to interrupt service through CephFS writeback. ceph_process_folio_batch removes folios rejected for writeback from its batch without releasing the references acquired by filemap_get_folios. Exposure requires active CephFS writeback to encounter an unsuitable folio; repeated retained references create memory pressure and affect availability only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
