Kernel memory corruption via freed buffer retry
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux Kernel 6.18 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through the Xe DRM dma-buf import path. The retry path reuses bo after error handling frees the buffer object, causing the next iteration to dereference freed kernel memory. The ioctl requires low-privilege local access to an Intel Xe DRM render node; exploitation can crash the system or execute code with kernel privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
