Unauthenticated code execution via arbitrary plugin installation
Published May 5, 2026 · Updated May 5, 2026
Missing authorization in Geeky Bot 1.2.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code through arbitrary plugin installation. The geekybot_frontendajax nopriv action accepts attacker-controlled model and function dispatch, reaching a helper that downloads and extracts a supplied ZIP into wp-content/plugins. No credentials or user interaction are required, and the installed plugin can execute PHP in the WordPress server context.
