CVE-2026-52934

Kernel memory corruption via wrapped TVLV length

Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026

A heap out-of-bounds write in affected Linux Kernel releases allows adjacent-network attackers to corrupt kernel memory through batman-adv. batadv_tvlv_container_list_size() accumulates registered-container lengths in a u16, so totals above U16_MAX wrap and make batadv_tvlv_container_ogm_append() allocate an undersized buffer before copying the full TVLV section. The gate is a configured, active batman-adv node on the same Layer 2 mesh in a high-MTU or fragmented deployment; the overflow corrupts the kernel heap and can crash or panic the host.
