Local denial of service via non-stream SIOCATMARK
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Improper ioctl handling in Linux Kernel allows local users to cause denial of service through SIOCATMARK on non-stream AF_UNIX sockets. The unix_ioctl handler in net/unix/af_unix.c inspects the receive queue for SOCK_DGRAM and SOCK_SEQPACKET requests even though those socket types reject MSG_OOB. A local process able to create an AF_UNIX socket and issue the ioctl can affect availability; no confidentiality or integrity impact is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
