CVE-2026-52926

Mesh availability loss via stale gateway reference

Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026

Stale gateway state in batman-adv in Linux Kernel allows local users to disrupt mesh recreation during gateway teardown. The batadv_gw_node_free() cleanup removes gateway-list entries without first clearing bat_priv->gw.curr_gw, leaving the selected gateway reference stale. Local access with privileges to tear down an active batman-adv mesh is required; the bounded consequence is loss of mesh availability after recreation.
