Local kernel crash via stale mesh interface
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Linux Kernel batman-adv OGMv2 handling allows local users to crash affected kernels by disabling a mesh interface. batadv_v_ogm_queue_on_if() unconditionally passes a disabled interface's NULL mesh_iface pointer to netdev_priv() after batadv_v_ogm_send_meshif() queues an OGM for that interface. Exploitation requires local access and an active batman-adv OGMv2 mesh interface that is disabled while queued OGM work still references it; the bounded consequence is a kernel crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
