Code injection in Vim before 9.2.0561 allows attackers to execute code as the editing user through Python omni-completion. The python3complete.vim and legacy pythoncomplete.vim scripts pass buffer-derived import and from statements to Python execution while adding the working directory to sys.path. Exploitation requires a Python-enabled build, filetype plugins, a hostile .py tree opened from its directory, and manual omni-completion.
