Code execution via undisclosed Dawn use-after-free
Published Apr 1, 2026 · Updated Apr 1, 2026
Use-after-free in Dawn in Google Chrome before 146.0.7680.178 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted HTML page. Google has not disclosed the affected Dawn object, the lifetime transition that frees it, or the stale reference that later accesses the released memory. Exploitation requires prior compromise of Chrome's renderer process; successful use crosses that boundary to execute arbitrary code beyond the renderer.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
