Unauthenticated arbitrary file write via handler traversal
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Path traversal in Nuclio Dashboard before 1.16.5 allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files through the functions API. writeFunctionSourceCodeToTempFile joins the unvalidated spec.handler module with a temporary directory and passes the cleaned path and decoded source to os.WriteFile. Default NOP authentication permits network access without credentials, and writes are limited to paths accessible within the Dashboard container.
